MUFG Private Bank — Nagoya

Designed by Neil M. Denari Architects (NMDA) and completed in 2006, the MUFG Private Banking Office in Nagoya reimagines the corporate banking environment through contemporary design and functional sophistication.

The façade features black metal panels applied over an existing 1970s office structure. This intervention reflects the Japanese aesthetic of restraint, balancing modern minimalism with a sense of permanence—qualities essential to a financial institution.

Inside, the design integrates ceilings and walls into a continuous form. A contrast of materials—white plaster and warm wood veneers—creates both precision and warmth. Bright colors and fabrics introduce an optimistic tone, enhancing the client experience by balancing professionalism with comfort.

Denari’s design approach redefines private banking, offering a curated experience that reflects both innovation and understated luxury.
