9h Nine Hours, Kyoto

Designed by Design Studio S, 9h Kyoto is a capsule hotel focused on spatial efficiency and clarity. The design applies a minimalist approach, using a monochrome palette and clean geometries to structure movement and use.

The facility includes 125 sleep pods arranged by gender, each formed from lightweight, molded material. Access is controlled by separate vertical circulation, maintaining privacy within a shared system.

Common areas use polished concrete, metal finishes, and diffuse lighting to create a restrained, functional environment. Circulation, services, and rest areas are clearly organized to support a linear sequence—shower, sleep, refresh—reflecting the hotel’s concept of a nine-hour stay.

Technology is embedded discreetly, supporting an uninterrupted experience defined by simplicity and order.
